Description
The Santa Fe introduced a diesel-powered version of their premier train to California in 1936 and named it The Super Chief. This train was powered by diesel-electric locomotives built by General Motors, and painted in a distinctive red, yellow, and silver paint scheme. This promotional booklet includes drawings of the train, stylized maps showing the route, and southwestern-style elements in the printing. The company promoted the speed and comfort of this train in an effort to capture as much market share as possible.
