Description
Deena Schnitman, active 1997–present, of Boston, Massachusetts, learned to make paste paper in workshops at Haystack Mountain School of Crafts, Penland School of Craft, and Paper and Book Intensive. She initially used acrylic paints, but now generally works with natural dyes and pigments. Her patterns, which she builds up from multiple layers of paint, have a soft modern appearance. Schnitman sells her papers and products at art fairs, shops and on commission.
