Description
Ijon Tichy tells of his encounter with Harvey Simworth at a futurological conference at a hotel in Costa Rica. Simworth had made his money rewriting children’s stories into pornographic novels, incorporating into the title the expression “The Sexual Life of ....” with children’s characters: Aladdin and the Lamp, Gulliver, Alice, etc. (Exactly which books are listed in Simworth’s oeuvre depends on the translator.) This copy of the Gulliver is mentioned in the French edition, Le Congrès de futurology, in 1971.
