Description

This program from the Chicago Railroad Fair gives visitors an overview of the entire fair site on the Chicago Lake Shore. It also includes the program for the daily pageant of historical railroad equipment called “Wheels-a-Rolling.” The fair itself was organized by the Chicago and North Western Railroad for its centennial celebration in 1948. Like the Fair of the Iron Horse, railroads from across the country contributed exhibits and historic equipment. Equipment manufacturers used it as an opportunity to showcase their new locomotives and freight and passenger cars.
