Description

One way to appreciate the distance between labor and capital during the Pullman Strike is to examine this catalog. These were private railroad cars that Pullman would build for anyone who was able to purchase one. The designs could be and were customized to fit any need, from hunting trips to business trips and to leisure travel. The workers building these cars saw their wages cut during the Panic of 1893 and their rents and expenses charged by the company remained the same.
