Fabián de Aquino was a Nahua from central Mexico who converted to Catholicism, adopted a Spanish name, and received his education from Franciscan friars around the mid-16th century. Recently discovered within his devotional manuscript are two original Nahuatl religious dramas based on the medieval legend of the Antichrist. They are among the earliest Nahuatl plays, and the earliest on the Antichrist from the Americas. One play incorporates Aztec deities, a forbidden topic, as demons that carry off the body of the Antichrist.

Fabián de Aquino era un nahua del centro de México que se convirtió al catolicismo, adoptó un nombre español y recibió su educación de los frailes franciscanos a mediados del siglo XVI. Recientemente descubiertos dentro de su manuscrito devocional hay dos dramas religiosos náhuatl originales basados en la leyenda medieval del Anticristo. Son de las primeras obras de teatro náhuatl y las más antiguas del Anticristo de las Américas. Una obra incorpora a las deidades aztecas, un tema prohibido, como demonios que se llevan el cuerpo del Anticristo.
