Description
The first two American periodicals described by Frank Luther Mott as magazines appeared in Philadelphia in January 1741 after a fierce competition between two newspaper publishers. While Benjamin Franklin is credited with the original idea, Andrew Bradford beat him to press by three days after stealing Franklin’s editor.
