The latter was likely the premises of Werner Publishing, one of the companies absorbed into Lovell’s conglomerate. “The Red-Headed League” and “The Boscombe Valley Mystery” are sandwiched between Raffles and Study in Scarlet, with out-of-sequence pagination.
