Description
The Filipino soldier and journalist Carlos P. Romulo’s account of the Japanese invasion of his country was subject to the activities of the U.S. Office of Censorship, an emergency wartime agency set up by the federal government on 19 December 1941. 24 pages of Romulo’s book were censored; the publisher notes its preliminaries that “The War Department has requested that certain statements in this book be deleted. This request arrived too late to permit the book to be reset. These deletions are indicated by heavy black lines.”
