Curators' Bios

Janine Barchas has been a member of the Grolier Club since 2021. She teaches at the University of Texas at Austin, where she holds the Chancellor's Council Centennial Professorship in the Book Arts. In addition to authoring and collecting Austen books, she is the creator behind www.whatjanesaw.org. 

Mary Crawford — the collector, not the character! — joined the Grolier Club in 2005. She first read Austen's novels during summer breaks in college, and she began collecting Austen in 1980, shortly after marrying into a devoted book-collecting family.  

Sandra Clark joined the Club in 2022. Together with her husband, she has collected every Austen novel they ever saw, from every time period, amassing an extraordinary collection of all-things Austen in over 50 years of collecting.
