Description
This well-illustrated bibliography describes the youthful printing undertaken in Frome, Somerset by Daniel and his brothers. For Daniel, the main period of activity occurred between approximately 1845, when he began printing on a thumb press at the age of 9, and the 1850s, when school often took him away. Works from this period were largely domestic in nature, comprising church ephemera, bookplates, and small pamphlets. The bibliography adds over 100 items to Madan’s list in the Memorial.
