Description

Falconer Madan was Librarian of the Bodleian Library at Oxford and a preeminent bibliographer. His Memorials, in spite of its age, remains an indispensable source for study of the Daniel Press. It was produced entirely in Fell types on Daniel’s Albion Press, which Emily Daniel donated to the Bodleian in 1919. In addition to listing the books and ephemera, it includes touching memorials to Daniel by his friends and colleagues. Madan’s work celebrates its 100th anniversary in 2021.
