Description
ITC did not sell type directly to the public; instead they licensed type designs to OEMs (original equipment manufacturers) who would offer the fonts for use with their equipment. Most of the major photocomposing machine companies, such as Compugraphic, Berthold, and Linotype, were subscribers to ITC’s offerings. So was a new company called Apple Computer, which included four ITC designs among the ten core fonts included in the early Macintosh computer operating system.
