Description
Georg Trump was one of the most original type designers of the twentieth century. He designed modern classics such as Trump Mediäval and Delphin.
Trump was born in 1896 in Brettheim, Germany. Beginning in 1920 he studied with the legendary lettering artist F.H. Ernst Schneidler (1882–1956) in Stuttgart. In 1931 he became the director of the Kunstgewerbeschule in Berlin, returning to Munich in 1933 to succeed Paul Renner as the head of the Meisterschule für Deutschlands Buchdrucker.
This volume was assembled by Trump’s friends and associates in honor of his 70th birthday. In addition to chronicling all of Trump’s type designs, it also covers his calligraphy, painting, and graphic design work.
